This month, that’s Bella’s story — a teacup poodle and one of our regular dog boarding and dog daycare guests from the Henderson and southeast Las Vegas area — as her dad told it to us, and as the staff who know her best tell it too.
He was living in Palm Springs when he decided he wanted a dog. He’d never had one before. He found a breeder in Las Vegas and traveled out to meet her, and that was it — Bella became his first dog.
He’ll be the first to admit he didn’t know how to take care of a dog. By his own account, this is more his story than hers — a first-time dog owner figuring it out. But Bella taught him. She’s fully potty trained, and she’s been coming to LV Pet Hotel for private-suite dog boarding and daycare since June 19, 2024.

Bella bounces. That’s the first thing you notice — this teacup poodle comes through the door with her whole tiny body moving, like she can’t get to everyone fast enough. She has personality to spare, and she makes sure the whole building knows she’s arrived, no matter how small she is.

Lexxi, one of our professional caregivers at LV Pet Hotel, has a soft spot for Bella that she doesn’t even try to hide. Bella usually stays in a Petite Suite, and every so often she gets settled into the Royal Suite instead — a little extra room for a dog who carries herself like she needs it.
And she does carry herself that way, according to Lexxi. Bella is sweet down to her bones — polite in a way that almost feels old-fashioned, the kind of dog who seems to say please and thank you with her eyes. She’s impeccably well behaved with other dogs, gliding through our supervised play yard like she’s hosting the party rather than attending it, undeterred by the fact that most of the other guests outweigh her many times over.
But don’t let the manners fool you. Bella is bossy, and she is not sorry about it. She’s got a bark that shows up right on cue whenever she feels the room needs managing — a little “I’m in charge here” announcement that she delivers several times a day, whether anyone asked for her opinion or not. It’s all bark, though. There’s no bite behind it, not even a little. It’s pure theater, and everyone falls for it every single time.
Because underneath all that bossing around is, in Lexxi’s words, an absolutely adorable dog who knows exactly how adorable she is. Bella carries herself like a model on a runway — some days the staff swear she actually poses, crossing her front legs and settling into a look that says she knows the camera loves her. And after all that strutting and bossing and holding court over the play yard, Bella’s favorite part of the day is the simplest one: curling up next to whichever staff member has a lap free and cuddling like she’s been waiting for that moment all along.
